Isaiah Brooks set to begin post-collegiate career playing for the San Antonio Toros in the Continental Football League.
A native of Little Elm, Texas, Brooks was a key cog on the Pioneer defense for the past four seasons, which includes a senior season that saw the Pioneers achieve one of their best seasons in a while (6-3 overall, 5-3 SAC play).
During the 2025 season, Brooks totaled 80 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and fumble recoveries, and 2 interceptions. During his Pioneer career, Brooks finished with 195 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 3 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, and 4 fumble recoveries.
Brooks spoke about what it meant to him to be in the small percentage of college football players to receive the opportunity to continue his football career saying, "It feels great. All that anyone from a small college ever asks for is a chance to prove ourselves that we belong with everyone that went to the bigger schools, and that just because we were overlooked doesn't mean we don't belong, so I'm ecstatic."
Brooks credited WBU football for preparing him for this opportunity, "My time at Wayland prepared me in a lot of ways, but the biggest was teaching me how to work through adversity and push past what I thought were my limits."
Brooks spoke about what his goals were going into his first season with the Toros saying, "My biggest goal in this first year with the Toros is to earn a starting spot and get my name known, because that's the first step of getting where I want to be at."
Brooks and the Toros are currently 2-0 on the season, and their next game will be on June 20
