Biography
Sana'a Lemen of Aledo has signed a letter of intent to play golf at Wayland Baptist University.
Lemen, a senior at Aledo High School, will be looking to qualify for the state tournament for the third straight year this spring. She has secured three top-5 finishes this season and recently shot rounds of 76 and 78 at The Rawls Golf Course in Lubbock, finishing fourth in a tournament there.
She earned ACE level certification within the First Tee program and now serves as a mentor and coach to younger First Tee participants.
Lemen, who carries a 3.92 overall GPA, plans to major in management/marketing.
"Sana'a is just an amazing young lady with a beautiful golf swing. Her recent scores in her senior year piqued our interest in her and she didn't disappoint," WBU coach Matt Garrett said. "I think she has a bright future and I am glad that she will get to share it with us here at Wayland."
Said Lemen: "I am so grateful to my family, friends and coaches who have helped guide and support me through this journey. It's both an honor and exciting that Coach (Matt) Garrett has given me an opportunity to join such a storied program at Wayland Baptist University, an opportunity that will allow me to further my education, grow as a person and, just as important, join a team of talented and accomplished ladies that make up the women's golf program. I can't wait to contribute to the continued success of the golf program. Go Pioneers."
