Denton Hudspeth enters his first season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Wayland Baptist University women's volleyball program.

Hudspeth comes to Wayland after spending 2021-25 at Bethel College (Kan.), where he served as a recruiting assistant. During his time at Bethel, the Threshers reached the KCAC Tournament for the first time in 10 years in 2022, beginning a run of four consecutive tournament appearances. In 2025, Bethel finished second in the KCAC Tournament, reached as high as No. 19 in the NAIA national rankings and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in 17 seasons.

As a recruiter, Hudspeth helped bring four All-KCAC players to Bethel, including KCAC Defensive Player of the Year Darla Crow. He also recruited Cameron Offerle, who was named KCAC Newcomer of the Year, later earned KCAC Player of the Year honors in 2024 and was selected as an NAIA All-American in 2025.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Hudspeth has coached club volleyball in the Wichita, Kan. area, primarily working with sophomore and junior athletes. One of his teams qualified for nationals, while numerous players he coached went on to compete at the collegiate level.

Hudspeth is a graduate of Sterling College. He and his wife, Courtney, were married in May 2023 and have two children, Mya and Zayne.
