High School: West Brook Senior High School…1 year letterman with volleyball

Why did you choose to come to Wayland? Choosing to come to Wayland was really a last resort and a door opened simply by God’s will. Plus, no other school that I had wanted to attend was as affordable as WBU or even in Texas.

How did you get started playing volleyball, and how old were you when you started? A church I went to when I was little had an intramurals team and my stepmother would play. She was one of the best players and she inspired me to play too.

What is your proudest athletic achievement to date? Every time I can help make a play and help my team score is very exciting for me. Even if I’m on the sideline cheering, I enjoy helping out my team.

What do you feel like you bring to your team, both athletically and personally? Athletically, I work very hard so that I can help my team, and not just myself. Personally, I am very reserved and shy, but my enthusiasm on the court or sideline can motivate and energize my team.

What are your future goals after college? I plan to go as far as volleyball will allow me to go. If it stops after my senior season, that’s fine, but I hope I go all the way to the Olympics for beach volleyball.
