Shahala turned in her best overall week of the season -- averaging 3.7 kills per set with a .516 attack percentage -- as the volleyball team beat University of the Southwest, Oklahoma City and Mid-America Christian. The freshman outside hitter from Denver City hit .739 against USW with only one error and 18 kills, matching a season best. She also contributed 11 digs, five aces (season-high four against OCU) and six blocks (5 vs. OCU.) It marks the second time this season Hawkins has earned SAC Player of the Week honors. Hawkins also has been SAC Hitter of the Week twice.
