Cody captured Wayland's first-ever champion at the prestigious Oklahoma City University Open, winning the 197-pound class in the freshman/sophomore division. He won all four of his matches, including a 9-5 decision over Kenny Cleveland of Northeast Oklahoma in the championship. Coach Johnny Cobb: "A special shoutout to Cody for being Wayland's first-ever champion. We are very proud of him."
