At Sunday’s West Texas A&M Last Chance Meet in Canyon, the final outing before the NAIA National Championships, Strickland turned in an “A” qualifying time of 10.55 in the 100 while also running a leg on the 4x100 team that turned in a time of 41.41. Strickland has impressed coach Brian Whitlock for what he’s done after starting track season at the conclusion of football on April 10. “It’s kind of unbelievable,” Whitlock said. A receiver for the Pioneers, Strickland is a redshirt freshman from Hobbs, N.M., who previously attended the Air Force Academy.
