Asia, a redshirt junior from Arlington, secured her third NAIA All-American honor by finishing sixth in the 109-pound weight class at the NAIA Women’s Wrestling National Invitational in Jamestown, N.D. The national champion in 2019 and national runner-up in 2020, Asia was well on her way to another top finish before being derailed by a knee injury. The No. 2 seed, who entered the competition with a 12-1 record this season, won her first match by default and was dominant in her next two, winning 12-0 and 11-0. Then in the semifinals against third-seeded Mia Palumbo of Iowa Wesleyan, Asia was leading 4-3 when she was injured and had to bow out. Asia also was forced to default her next two bouts, leaving her in sixth place.
