At the Texas Tech Open on Saturday against very fast fields, Gortia ran the NAIA's fastest time of the season in the 200 meters (24.14 seconds) and the second-fastest time in the 100 (11.72 seconds). Coach Rohan Thompson complimented Gortia's performances: "Gortia had a really good double. She's recovered from her injury from indoors. Those are two really good times."
