In a 99-91 win over NCAA Division II West Texas A&M on Nov. 18, Royal dumped in a career-high 31 points – 11 more than his previous best – with a season-best 11 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals. The 6-foot-4 senior from Gary, Ind., made 8-of-12 (67 percent) field goals and 15-of-20 (75 percent) free throws and was named Sooner Athletic Conferene Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Coach Matt Garnett: "Royal has carried over a very strong end to the season last year which led into great off-season work. I'm very proud to see Royal going out there and competing at a high level because he's very deserving."
