Will Bass recorded a hit in each of the Pioneers' first six games during their opening week. The sophomore from Plainview hit a game-tying triple in the sixth inning of game two against Sterling College, and hit another ball to the wall in game three against Sterling that scored what proved to be the deciding third run of the ballgame. Bass hit a team-high .417 on the week, scoring three runs while driving in one.
