At the Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association National Tournament in St. Louis, Tarkyia Mensah placed third in the 123-pound division to pace Wayland’s team, which finished seventh overall. Mensah won her first three matches before falling in the semifinals. She came back to win her next two matches, both by technical fall. Coach Aaron Meister: "Tarkyia did an awesome job of storming back after losing in the semifinals, which can be pretty hard to do. She also improved on her finish from the last time she competed here (sixth last year), which is great."
