Che, a junior from Trinidad & Tobago, finished in first place out of 13 entrants in the 400 meters at The Open hosted by Lubbock Christian University. Che's time of 48.44 seconds met the “B” qualifying standard for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships set for May 25-27 in Gulf Shores, Ala.
