Jacob, a senior from Plainview, and the cheer team opened their competitive season over the weekend with two events in Kansas. At the Tabor Invitational, Wayland placed third out of six squads then, at the Thresher Invitational hosted by Bethel, WBU placed fourth out of three teams. “Jacob is always positive and pushing his team,” WBU cheer coach Samantha Templar said. Jacob is a former Pioneer football player and student-assistant coach who has competitively cheered the last three years.
