Tanner pitched a complete game as the Pioneers ended No. 19 Texas Wesleyan’s 17-game winning streak with a 10-5 victory Friday at Wilder Field. In seven innings, the freshman from Phoenix scattered nine hits, allowed just one earned run, struck out two and walked two as he compiled a 1.29 ERA. He threw 105 pitches. It was Tanner’s first complete game in just his third start of his career. Said Coach Brad Bass: “Tanner was incredible. That allowed us to have (enough) pitchers to go (Saturday)” when Wayland split a doubleheader to take the series.
