Alexis, a 5-foot-8 senior defender from Dallas, helped the 13th-ranked men’s soccer team log its eighth shutout of the season and third in a row with a 1-0 victory over John Brown University. Most of JBU’s attack came through Alexis’ side, and JBU got off just five shots the entire match, only one of which was on-goal.
Alexis was an NAIA All-American Third Team selection last season when he also was named Sooner Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year and All-SAC First Team for the 2017 national champions.
The Pioneers (9-2, 4-1 SAC) play Tuesday at Oklahoma City in a women’s/men’s doubleheader starting at 5 p.m. The men’s team then hosts Bacone at 2 p.m. Saturday.
