Tanner pitched the Pioneers to a 16-3 victory in a conference series-opener against Bacone. The 5-foot-10 sophomore right-hander from Phoenix tossed Wayland’s first complete-game of the season, a seven-inning seven-hitter. He recorded a career-high 10 strikeouts while walking none and allowing no earned runs.

Tanner, who was last year’s Sooner Athletic Conference Golden Glove pitcher, ranks 15^th in the NAIA in ERA (1.27) and 26^th in number of wins (4-0). He leads the team with 26 strikeouts.
