Caryssa competed at the United World Wrestling Junior and Under 23 World Team Trials inside the Irving Convention Center. With more than 1,000 contested matches, it was the largest women’s wrestling tournament in history.

A freshman from Austin, Caryssa was able to compete for the first time all season, having sat out her entire first year due to injuries. She lost both of her matches, but coach Aaron Meister said, "We were excited to see Caryssa get out there and get some matches in because she's been training all year" but has been unable to compete due to her medical issues.
