Amanda captured first place at the inaugural Sooner Athletic Conference Women’s Wrestling Championships hosted by Wayland.
 
Competing in the 130-pound division, Amanda was dominant, securing three 10-0 tech fall wins and a second-round pin in just 49 seconds. A junior criminal justice major from McAllen, Amanda is ranked seventh in the NAIA in her weight class.
 
She was responsible for 16½ of Wayland’s 118½ points as the seventh-ranked Pioneers took second place in the team standings.

Nina Pham and Desiree Zavala, both previous Apex Collision Center Student-Athlete of the Week honorees, also took first places.
