Desiree, competing at 143 pounds, secured a first-period pin in her first match of the season against Lexi Basham of TXWES, helping the Pioneers to a 38-10 season-opening victory in the dual against the Rams. A senior from Grandview, Wash., Des figures to be the top-ranked wrestler at her weight when NAIA rankings are released. She went 24-0 last season.
