The Pioneer women suffered their first loss of the season Friday afternoon in Ft. Worth, 3-0, to #22 Texas Wesleyan.
The Lady Rams, who got off 16 of their 25 total shots in the first period, had a 1-0 lead at the intermission. WBU junior goalkeeper Kylie Middleton made five of her six saves in the half.
Sophomore Staci Long and Michele Enriquez, a freshman, recorded the only two shots on goal by the Pioneers in the first 45 minutes.
WBU forced the TWU goalkeeper to make just one save in the second half on a shot by junior Roxanne Pasley. The Pioneer defense tightened up considerably, allowing just nine shots, but unfortunately two made it to the back of the neck, the final one on a corner kick 12 minutes into the period.
The Pioneers will look to get back on the winning track Saturday morning at 11 against Northwood University.
