Wayland Women Continue to Struggle

SHAWNEE, Okla. --- The Wayland women were shutout 3-0 by St. Gregory's University on Tuesday afternoon. WBU drops to 2-13 on the season and 0-9 in the league.

According to Pioneer coach Shiloh Posey, his women's team struggled against a strong wind and seemed to be a half step off all day.

"Every bounce went the other way. Basically it seemed Murphy's Law was in effect for us."

WBU did recorded 13 shots in the contest, with eight on goal. Freshman Corita Kraemer had four of the shots, three of which forced saves. Emarie Holland attempted three shots (all three on goal) and Najuka Anderson had two.

All three of the SGU goals came within an 11 minute time period. The first two were five minutes apart at the tail end of the first half, and the third came not quite five minutes into the second.

The Wayland women wrap up their season at home with upcoming games against USAO on Friday at 2 pm, and against Lubbock Christian next Tuesday at 5 pm. The Pioneers will honor five seniors, including four four-year letterwinners, prior to the game against LCU.
