Shahala Hawkins and
Rossanna Ramos have been recognized by the Sooner Athletic Conference for their play last week when the Pioneers won two of three matches over a pair of top-tier conference teams. Hawkins is the SAC Attacker of the Week for the fourth time while Ramos is the SAC Defender of the Week for the first time.
A 6-foot senior middle from Denver City, Hawkins averaged 3.67 kills over an 11-set span which features victories over Southwestern Assemblies of God and Texas Wesleyan, and a four-set loss to Lubbock Christian. She recorded 50 kills in 120 attempts and had only nine attack errors for a hitting percentage of .342. Hawkins also tallied two solo blocks and eight block assists, along with five aces.
Hawkins' 25 kills against LCU are her second-most in a match this season, and her 12 digs against Wesleyan were one off her season-best. For the season, she ranks second in the NAIA in kills per game (4.99), sixth in hitting percentage (.399) and ninth in blocks per game (1.4).
Ramos, a 5-7 junior defensive specialist from Montverde, Fla., averaged 5.18 digs over the 11 sets. She had 57 digs and was successful on 98 percent of her passes, with only two errors in 108 attempts.

The Pioneers (16-5 overall, 6-1 SAC), ranked the equivalent of 27
th in the NAIA last week, play their next six matches on the road, starting with St. Gregory's on Friday night in Shawnee, Okla., and Southwestern Christian on Saturday morning in Bethany, Okla. WBU's next home match is Oct. 23 against No. 23 OCU.
