Hawkins repeats as SAC Attacker of the Week

For the second straight week, Wayland Baptist's Shahala Hawkins is Sooner Athletic Conference Attacker of the Week.
 
Hawkins, a senior middle from Denver City, was named to the Hampton Inn Classic All-Tournament Team after leading the No. 19 Pioneers against three top-10 teams, including defending national champion Park, Mo., along with No. 3 Missouri Baptist and No. 10 Columbia, Mo. Hawkins averaged 4.43 kills per game while hitting at a .315 clip. She had six solo blocks and nine block assists.
 
Hawkins ranks first in the NAIA in kills per game (5.510), fifth in hitting percentage (.423), and seventh in blocks per game (1.510).
 
In other honors, Emalee Smith of Southwestern Assemblies of God is SAC Defender of the Week and Caitlin Paschall, also of SAGU, is SAC Setter of the Week.
 
The Pioneers (9-3) play their first home match of the season and kick off the SAC schedule at 7:30 p.m. Friday against Southwestern Christian.
