Wrestlers win 2 of 3 at National Duals

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Wayland Baptist won two of its three matches on the first day of the NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals on Friday at Allen County War Memorial.
 
The No. 7 Pioneers won their opening dual over Missouri Valley, 30-17, before falling in the next round to fourth-ranked Cumberlands, Ky., 29-15. In its final outing of the day, Wayland walloped No. 14 Adrian, Mich., 37-1.
 
Breanna Dudoit-Vasquez won all three of her matches, including two by fall, in the 136-pound class.
Marina Briceno also swept her matches in 143s while Nahiela Magee won both of hers, one in 170s and another in 191s.
 
Wayland returns to the mats at 9 a.m. Saturday to take on No. 6 Lindenwood, Mo. The winner will wrestle for fifth place at 1 p.m. against either No. 8 McKendree or Missouri Valley, while the loser shoots for seventh place.
