The Wayland Baptist men's soccer team's program-record 10-match unbeaten streak came to an end here Saturday night as the No. 21 Pioneers fell to perennial power Science and Arts of Oklahoma, 1-0.
USAO (7-4-1, 3-1-1) scored the match's only goal at the 54-minute, 39-second mark on a rocket shot by Butch Hampton that got past Pioneer keeper
Ziggy Camejo.
WBU had lots of opportunities to score, outshooting the Drovers 19-7 including a 10-3 shots-on-goal advantage. But the Pioneers couldn't get one past USAO keeper George Connolly.
Cooper Gaypia led the Pioneers with four shots, two of which were on-target.

Ricardo Ramos took three shots apiece, and two of Ucar's were on-goal.
It was Wayland's first loss since its only previous setback, 4-2 to Texas-Permian Basin on Sept. 1. The Pioneers won eight straight after that before being tied by Bacone, 1-1 in double-overtime, a week ago in Muskogee, Okla. WBU got back on the winning track Tuesday with a thrilling 3-2 home victory over Oklahoma City.
The Pioneers will attempt to start a new winning streak when they host league-leader Southwestern Christian (12-2, 6-0) at 6 p.m. Tuesday. The Eagles, ranked the equivalent of 29
th in the NAIA, ran over Southwestern Assemblies of God's Lions on Saturday in Bethany, Okla., 7-0. It was Southwestern Christian's eighth-straight win.
