Jack Nobles and
Kelea Pool are Apex Collision Center Student-Athletes of the Week.
Nobles, a 6-foot-6 senior forward from Trophy Club, Texas, scored a career-high 33 points in the ninth-ranked Pioneers' 113-108 triple-overtime road loss to Hardin-Simmons. The 33 points, in 32 minutes before he fouled out midway through the first overtime, bested Nobles' previous season-high of 19 points and topped his career-high of 23 from last season.
Nobles couldn't be stopped in the paint as he hit 15-of-26 shots (58 percent) while also grabbing six rebounds.
Pool turned in a solid all-around game in the No. 6 Flying Queens' 88-48 win over Hardin-Simmons in Abilene. In 19 minutes, Pool scored 11 points, grabbed six rebounds, handed out three assists and blocked four shots.
A 6-foot-2 senior forward/center from Seminole, Pool ranks 17
th in the NAIA with 1½ blocks per game.
The Flying Queens and Pioneers next play Thursday in Waxahachie against Southwestern Assemblies of God University beginning at 6 and 7:45 p.m., respectively.
