Back home after a couple of road victories, the fifth-ranked Wayland Baptist Flying Queens put another impressive Sooner Athletic Conference triumph in the books with a 114-63 win over Central Christian (Kan.) Thursday night in Hutcherson Center.

With their highest-scoring game in six years, the Queens (22-2, 14-1 SAC) were hitting on all cylinders right out of the gate and quickly gained momentum against the Lady Tigers (6-17, 2-13). By the end of the first quarter, Wayland had outscored the visitors from Kansas, 22-12.

The Queens never missed a beat in the second quarter where they poured in a game-high 34 points – going 12-of-20 from the field including 6-of-8 from the three – against the Tigers' 7 points. The Queens out-rebounded the Tigers 32-21 in the first half and took to the locker room with a comfortable 44-point lead, 85-41.

After a very lopsided first half that saw Wayland up 56-19, scoring was much tighter in the third and fourth quarters when the Queens outscored the Tigers 29-22 in each period.

The Queens were led by
Kambrey Blakey, who finished with 20 points on perfect shooting. The senior forward went 7-of-7 from the field, including 4-of-4 from behind the arc, and sank both of her free throws. Also with big scoring nights were
Kaylee Edgemon and
Jenna Cooper, who each contributed 18 points. Cooper also pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds. Her previous high was 14, which she accomplished on two previous occasions this season.

Cooper logged her seventh double-double of the season, which she actually managed in the first half when she recorded 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Also scoring in double digits was freshman
Blakely Gerber, who chipped in 16 points with five rebounds, as well as
Morgan Bennett with 10 points and five assists.

This victory was the Queens' 18
th in a row and the sixth time to score 100 or more points, with five of those in their last six outings. The 114 points were the most since the 2013-14 season when the Flying Queens defeated St. Gregory's, 119-68.

The Queens finished the game with 47-of-90 (52 percent) shooting from the field, including 13-of-31 (42 percent) from behind the arc.

Central Christian, led by Holly Golden with 18 points, shot 27-of-82 (33 percent) from the field, going 5-of-20 (25 percent) from the three.

Wayland outrebounded the Tigers, 60-40, and the Queens' bench outscored CCC's reserves, 71-23. Their seven turnovers were one off their season-low.

The Queens will be right back in action on their home court Saturday afternoon as they take on Langston (10-11, 6-9) at 2 p.m. The Lady Lions come to town on a three-game win streak, having defeated Central Christian, 105-88, Texas College, 82-81, and on Thursday Oklahoma-Panhandle State, 85-75.

The Queens defeated Langston, 79-50, when the teams met in Oklahoma in mid-January.
