Plainview, Texas –

Nestor previously set the record by going for 22 rebounds on two occasions this season against Northern New Mexico College and SAGU.
RV Wayland Baptist (15-3, 10-2 SAC) got off to a quick start Saturday afternoon by jumping out to a 7-0 lead after two buckets by Nestor and a 3-pointer by
Bobbie Fouquet. With just under a minute to go in the period,
Emily Sigala grabbed a rebound off a Lion missed 3-pointer and was able to push it in transition to find Nestor sprinting down the lane for the layup to give the Queens a 19-13 lead.
Linda Brice was able to force a Lion turnover and finish the layup at the other end to give the Queens a 21-13 lead after the first quarter.
With the score at 27-20 and just under seven minutes remaining until halftime, Brice was able to swing the ball over to Fouquet in the short corner for the turnaround jumper to extend the Queen lead to 9. Nestor then went on score the next 6 points for the Queens finishing with an and-one conversion with just over two minutes in the frame. After a layup and two free throws for the Lions, the Queens took a 37-26 lead into the intermission.
The Queens came out of the halftime break a little slow for the first 2 minutes after the Lions went on a 6-0 run to cut the lead down to 37-32. The Queens quickly responded and went on a 8-0 run themselves started by 5 points from Fouquet and another and-one conversion by Nestor. The Queens were able to get the Lions in foul trouble in the last three minutes of the third period, and Brice and Nestor combined for 6 made free throws during that stretch to extend the Queen lead to 59-42.
Both teams traded baskets for the first couple of minutes to start the final quarter, but Brice was able to push the ball down the floor and attack the basket for a layup to give the Queens a 66-51 lead. With just under a minute to go in regulation, Sigala was able to escape the Lion pressure to finish a clutch layup to push the Queens lead to 73-63. Nestor and Sigala made four clutch free throws down the stretch to secure a 77-66 win over RV Langston to put the Queens in second place in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings.
