Evans Pololet and
Inmaculada Delgado of Wayland Baptist are this week's Sooner Athletic Conference Oklahoma Ford Dealers Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
Evans Pololet placed 9
th at the New Mexico Junior College Invitational III Friday, with a time of 25:06.1 in the 8K race. The strong showing by Pololet helped the Pioneers finish 2
nd as a team.
In his previous race at the New Mexico Junior College Invitational II on September 27, Pololet placed 6
th running a 25:30.9.
Pololet's hard work is evidenced by him shaving almost 25 seconds off his time from one race to the next.
Inmaculada Delgado was honored as she placed 13
th at the New Mexico Junior College Invitational III with a field of 57 runners. Delgado finished the 5K race in 19:48.8.
Delgado showed drastic improvement from her previous race. In the NMJC Invitational II, Delgado had a time of 20:40.6 as she finished in 14
th place.
