Head Cheer Coach
Kira Weatherton was ecstatic with her team's performance in the Showdown saying, "The team has truly worked SO hard all season long. It's not always easy cheering on others while also practicing for competition. It's not always easy having to perform on the sidelines while also aiming to perfect a 3-minute routine! There were several days where my team was tired. We practice early in the mornings three times a week, but as we got closer to competition, our practices increased, and our workouts were more intense. I always told the team that it was about their endurance, perseverance, and seeking the end goal. Surely enough, they did JUST that. This reminder kept them going. Words can't express how proud I am of this team."
Coach Weatherton finished by talking about the season, "This season has not been the easiest, but it was successful. On top of that, they were rewarded for all their hard work while being there! We had an amazing time. I couldn't ask for a better team than the one's I have now. Wayland Cheer is going to be on the rise!"
