BETHANY, Okla. -- Wayland Baptist made quick work of Southwestern Christian on Saturday afternoon, sweeping the Eagles in straight sets (25–13, 25–11, 25–8) to earn their 11th win of the season and improve to 10–6 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
The Pioneers were in control from the opening serve, using balanced offense and sharp serving to overpower SCU.
Deniz Yileri led the attack with 11 kills on a .296 hitting percentage, while Milena Maslankiewicz added six kills on a blistering .545 clip.
Fade Ogunbade also chipped in six kills and two block assists to round out a strong all-around effort at the net.

Martyna Lewinska directed the offense efficiently, finishing with 28 assists, three service aces, and a perfect hitting percentage on two attempts. Defensively,
Jordan Schlageter anchored the back row with a team-high 11 digs, and
Aubrie Sierra added eight more as the Pioneers held SCU to a -.063 hitting percentage for the match.
Wayland Baptist never trailed after the opening points of the first set, cruising to decisive wins in each frame. The Pioneers out-hit the Eagles .239 to -.063 and recorded 11 service aces compared to just one for SCU.
With the victory, Wayland Baptist improves to 11–9 overall and stays firmly in the upper half of the SAC standings. Southwestern Christian falls to 1–18 (1–15 SAC).
The Pioneers return to action on Friday, October 24
th when they play host to the Lions of Langston University. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM at the Hutcherson Center.
