Davis's Big Game Against Nelson Earns Him SAC Football Defensive Player of the Week Award

OKLAHOMA CITY --- Wayland Baptist junior linebacker Brennen Davis has received this week's Sooner Athletic Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week honors after anchoring a Pioneer defense that won their sixth straight game on Saturday against Nelson.

A native of Muleshoe, Texas, Davis was flying around all afternoon for a Pioneer defense that continuously stalled the Nelson Lions offense in their 45-27 victory. Davis finished with ten total tackles, one tackle for loss, and a pick six where he deflected a pass and caught it himself, which resulted in him taking it to the house.

Davis and the Pioneers are on a bye this week before traveling to Fort Worth, Texas for a highly contested contest against #25 Texas Wesleyan. The final game of the season will take place at 2:00 PM.
