PARK CITY, Kan. ---  #13 Wayland Baptist Women's Wrestling traveled north to Park City, Kansas to compete in the 2025 Falcon Open where they dominated the mat and earned an astounding eight first place finishes across the meet.
The Pioneers had eight first place finishers at the Falcon Open including Aleena Navarette (124lb), 
Ambre Chevreau (180lb), 
Leilani Sanchez (235lb), 
Madison Pena (131lb), 
Mariah Dillard (117lb), 
Paulina Butler (138lb), 
Jordan Suarez (145lb), and 
Payton Sholander (180lb).
 
TOP FINISHERS
 
Navarette dominated the 124 pound division by finishing 4-0 with two Technical Falls, one Decision, and one Fall. In the first place match, Navarette won by fall, 11-2.
Chevreau cruised through the 180 pound division with one win via Bye, and the other three by way of Technical Falls with all scores being 10-0.
Sanchez finished 2-0 at the meet and earned first place by getting two wins via Fall, including a 6-2 Fall in the first place match.
Pena earned first place by getting four wins, one via Bye, one Technical Fall, and two Falls. She won the first place match by fall, 6-5.
Dillard dominated the 117 pound division by earning two three falls and one Technical Fall. In the first place match, she won by Fall, 4-0.
Butler cruised to first place by winning one match via Bye, two matches via Fall, and one by way of Technical Fall.
Suarez dominated the 145 pound division with one win by way of Fall, one via Technial Fall, and winning the first place match by Decision, 14-5.
Sholander eased her way through the 180 pound division with wins coming by way of a Bye and three Falls, including a Fall in the first place match, 6-3.
Calli Connaly earned third place in the 103 pound division, including a massive win over the #2 ranked wrestler in her division.
Mercy Adekuoroye finished in 3
rd place in the 160 pound class including a 10-0 Technical Fall win in the third place match.
 
The Pioneer Women's Wrestling squad will return to the mat on Friday, November 21
st when they compete in the Missouri Valley Open.
