Glendale, AZ – The Wayland Baptist Women's Beach Volleyball team played their first match in program history today at the Victory Lane Sports Complex in Glendale, Arizona. Vanguard University, from Costa Mesa, CA, a school that won the 2024 NAIA National Invitational, came out on top of the Pioneers 4-1.
Jordan Schlageter and Deniz Yileri earned the distinction of having the first match win in program history with their 21-18, 9-21, 15-6 victory.

- Logan Daniels Natalie Hill (VU) def. Lilou Henry-Souquet/Frida Espeseth (WBU) 23-21, 20-22, 15-9
Coach Lucie Mahelova shared these comments about her team, "We showed great fight in playing Vanguard, who is a three-time NAIA National Champion and is now transitioning to NCAA Division II status. Jordan and Deniz played with great hustle and energy and that helped them come up with the first match win in our program's history. I was proud of the effort shown by all of our teams. Today was a great experience for our team and we will improve from the experience."
