Fade Ogunbade has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Volleyball Attacker of the Week following an outstanding opening weekend performance at the Pirate Invitational in Missouri.

Ogunbade, a dominant force at the net for the Pioneers, totaled 41 kills over three matches while hitting an impressive .333 for the week. She averaged 3.7 kills per set and added six blocks, helping Wayland secure its first victory of the season against Park University.

Her weekend began with nine kills on a .300 clip against Bethel College on Friday. She followed that with a monster performance in a five-set battle against the University of Saint Mary on Saturday morning, racking up 20 kills on 38 attempts while hitting .421, along with four block assists. Ogunbade closed the tournament in style Saturday night, posting 12 kills on 31 swings for a .290 hitting percentage in the Pioneers' 3-1 win over Park University.

In total, the senior middle blocker recorded 41 kills, 7 block assists, and 2 solo blocks, accounting for 49.5 points across the three matches.

Wayland Baptist (1-2) will return to the court on Friday, September 5
th at 6:00 PM for a Sooner Athletic Conference showdown in Siloam Springs, Arkansas against the Golden Eagles of John Brown University (3-1).
