Box Score 2 Plainview, TX – February 28, 2026 — The Lady Pioneers continued their hot start in conference play Saturday with a dominant doubleheader sweep over Central Christian College (KS) at home, improving to 3-1 in conference action and 11-3 overall on the season.
In the opener, Wayland Baptist exploded for an 8-0 shutout victory behind a balanced offensive attack and outstanding pitching. The Pioneers struck first in the bottom of the first when Brooke McLaurin's RBI single gave them an early lead. Wayland built on that momentum with a four-run fourth inning fueled by timely hits from Berkley Bradley, Kailee Sanchez and others, turning a close game into a commanding advantage. The scoring continued into the fifth and sixth frames as Wayland stretched the lead and never looked back. Standout performance came from pitcher Kynleigh Kirby, who tossed a complete game shutout, allowing just five hits and striking out three to earn the win.
