PLAINVIEW – Wayland Baptist senior shortstop
Mikayla Carrillo has been recognized as a 2026 NCCAA Softball First Team All-American, per the NCCAA offices.
A native of Plainview, Carrillo capped off her Pioneer career with her best overall season that resulted in the Pioneers breaking the program record for wins in a season (33) and earning their first bid to compete in the 2026 NCCAA Softball World Series where they advanced to the semifinals.
During the 2026 season, Carrillo hit .418 across 184 at bats with 3 home runs, 40 RBIs, 49 runs scored, 77 total hits, 17 doubles, 10 triples, 6 stolen bases, and an incredible 15-5 walk to strikeout ratio.
Carrillo ends her Pioneer career with a .343 batting average, 8 home runs, 87 RBIs, 107 runs scored, 173 hits, 38 doubles, and a .517 slugging percentage.
Carrillo also received First Team All-SAC honors and NCCAA All-Region honors this season. In addition, she is the first Pioneer to be recognized as an NCCAA All-American in program history.
