PLAINVIEW, Texas — Wayland Baptist junior middle blocker Emma Scott has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference Digital Scoreboards Attacker of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Scott, a native of Blum, Texas, put together an impressive week at the net while helping the Pioneers finish a perfect 3-0. She totaled 32 kills on 62 attacks, hitting .419 while averaging 3.20 kills per set. Scott also made an impact defensively, recording 11 total blocks and six digs over the three matches.
Her biggest performance of the week came in Wayland's five-set victory over Oklahoma City University. Scott delivered 19 kills as the Pioneers battled back to earn the 3-2 win inside the Hutcherson Center.
The award capped a strong week for Wayland, which picked up victories over Oklahoma Panhandle State, Southwestern Christian and Oklahoma City. The Pioneers swept both OPSU and SCU before closing the week with the five-set win over the Stars.
Scott becomes the first Wayland Baptist player to earn SAC Attacker of the Week honors during the 2026 season. Through the first five weekly awards of the season, Scott is the first Pioneer to claim the conference's attacker honor.
Her recognition continues a strong stretch for the Pioneers as they move deeper into Sooner Athletic Conference play.
