Mahelova, a 5-foot-10 senior setter on the volleyball team, helped the Pioneers win two matches last week while also taking a set off Sooner Athletic Conference champion Oklahoma City. In 11 sets, Mahelova totaled 117 assists, an average of 10.6 a set. She also totaled 22 digs, one solo block and 13 block-assists, six kills and one ace.
 
In the regular-season finale against Our Lady of the Lake, Mahelova, a native of Znojmo, Czech Republic, amassed a season-high 45 assists and five block-assists.
 
The Pioneers (16-7), the No. 3 seed in the SAC, open the conference tournament at 7 p.m. Tuesday against sixth-seeded Oklahoma-Panhandle State.
