Jones intercepted a pair of passes, highlighted by a pick-six, as the Pioneers defeated Howard Payne, 44-34. His first interception was returned 44 yards for a touchdown, and the second 28 yards after which Wayland scored on the next play to take a commanding 44-13 lead. Jones also had 5 solo and 2 assisted tackles, plus he returned one kickoff 5 yards and one punt 14 yards. The Pioneers are 2-0 for the first time since restarting the program four years ago.
