Tamyra, a 5-foot-5 sophomore from Katy, placed third at the WCWA National Championships in Bristol, Tenn. Wrestling in the 143-pound class, she lost her second-round match before winning her next six, three by fall. Teammate Angela Vyborny, wrestling in the 191s, also took third place, losing only her championship semifinal bout. Vyborny is a junior from Citrus Heights, Calif. Sophomore Valerie Rosales, in the 155s, finished eighth to also earn all-American status.
