Daniel earned his third NAIA National Special Teams Player of the Week and his ninth Central States Football League Special Teams Player of the Week after kicking a 41-yard, game-winning field goal with nine seconds left in a 30-28 win over Lyon College in Batesville, Ark.  The 5-foot-11, 200-pound senior from El Salvador who graduated from Bryan Adams High School in Dallas also made both of his other field goal attempts from 24 and 25 yards, and he was 3-for-3 on PATs. Martinez also had two touchbacks among seven kickoffs that averaged just over 56 yards per attempt. Coach Butch Henderson said of the game-winning drive that started with 55 seconds left, "We felt we could move the ball down the field, and if we could tee it up past the 50 Daniel would be able to win it." Martinez ranks second in the NAIA in field goals with 10 and ninth in kick scoring with 38 points.
