Nina, a sophomore from San Jose, Calif., and a transfer from Grays Harbor College, Wash., took first place at 101 pounds in the Cliff Keen West Coast Tournament of Champions in Rocklin, Calif.
 
Ranked No. 2 in the NAIA in her weight class, Nina won all three of her matches: by 10-0 tech fall over Kylie Martin of York College, Neb., by 6-4 decision over fifth-ranked Angelina Gomez of Emmanuel College, Ga., and by 16-7 decision over third-ranked Hiba Salem of top-ranked Menlo College, Calif.
 
Nina and the second-ranked Pioneers are next in action Jan. 4 and 5 at the NWCA National Duals in Louisville, Ky.
