Josh, a sophomore from Cape Town, South Africa, captured his first collegiate win at the Chicken Express Invitational hosted by Wayland at Plainview Country Club.

Josh shot the lowest round in Pioneer golf history when he carded a career-best 8-under 63, followed by a 67 for a 12-under 130 total. He won the event by two shots over teammate Sentanio Minnie and Jake Leatherwood of Western Texas.

"It was a great win for him," coach Tom Harp said. "There were some quality players in the field here. Midland, Ranger and Western Texas all have talented young guys with a lot of big futures. It may not have been a huge field, but it was a great win. What he did (Monday) was awesome."

Josh paced the eighth-ranked Pioneers to the team title by seven shots over Midland College. Wayland shot a program-record 18-under 266 followed by a 271 for a record 31-under 537 total.

It was Wayland’s second win in five fall tournaments.
