OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. --- Three members of the Wayland Baptist men's wrestling team came away with wins in a dual meet against Ouachita Baptist University on Wednesday evening at Oklahoma City's Abe Lemons Arena.
Sophomore Cesar Alvarez of Hereford earned four points for the Pioneers with a 12-1 major decision in the 141 pound class.
Freshman Marc Backus of Amarillo picked up his second win of the season with a pin early in the second period of his match in the 157 pound division, and sophomore Francisco DeLeon got the 6-2 decision in the 285 pound class. DeLeon is from El Paso.
As a team, the Pioneers fell to Ouachita Baptist 39-13, after being shut-out earlier by host Oklahoma City University, 53-0.
