Box Score 2 MUSKOGEE, Okla. – Sooner Athletic Conference newcomer Bacone College proved to be no match for Wayland Baptist as the Pioneers kicked off SAC play here Saturday afternoon with 12-1 and 22-1 victories. 
The Pioneers (19-4, 2-0 SAC) knocked 11 home runs on the day, including three by 
Caleb Davidson. Starters 
Jordie Henry and 
Taylor Bridges both went the distance in the seven-inning contests as Bacone fell to 2-13, 0-2. 
In the opener, 
Ernesto Lizardi got the day started right when he belted a grand slam in the first inning. The Pioneers were off and running after that. Lizardi, who ended with six RBI, and Davidson both went deep twice as Wayland knocked six homers, with 
Will Bass and 
Austin Davis also joining the homer fest. 
Henry kept his record perfect at 4-0, giving up four hits with seven strikeouts and two walks. Jason Diaz also went the distance for Bacone, allowing 11 hits. 
It took the Pioneers a little longer to get rolling in the second game, but once they did the floodgates opened in a big way. 
Wayland trailed 1-0 going into the third inning, but the Pioneers scored six in the third, then seven in the fourth and five more in the fifth. After a scoreless sixth, Wayland put up its final four runs in the seventh when the scheduled nine-inning game ended on the 10-run rule. 
The Pioneers produced 18 hits in that one, five of which were homers. 
Alex Mumm got two of them, sending out a three-run blast in the third followed an inning later by a two-run knock. Davidson and David also sent balls out, as did 
Gregg Veneklasen. 
Bass went 3-for-7 while 
Jake Doyle and Mumm were each 3-for-4. 
Bridges (4-1) gave up eight hits while striking out nine with two walks. The Pioneers had their way with three Bacone pitchers. 
The teams will conclude the series with a single game at 1 p.m. Saturday.
