HUTCHINSON, Kan. -- Wayland Baptist's baseball game against Tabor College (Kan.) in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round has been delayed until at least 4 p.m. today due to weather.
The third-seeded Pioneers and fourth-seeded Bluejays were scheduled to play their elimination game at 11 a.m. It originally was rescheduled for 1 p.m.
The winner advances to play top-seeded Science and Arts of Oklahoma in the championship game, which should be rescheduled to begin today around 7:30 p.m. If unbeaten USAO loses that game, a winner-take-all will be played at noon Friday with a trip to the Avista-NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho, going to the winner.
Wayland lost to USAO, 3-0, on Wednesday while Tabor won elimination games over Mayville State (N.D.), 4-3, and Morningside (Iowa), 3-1. The Pioneers topped Tabor in an opening-round game on Tuesday, 4-2.
