COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Wayland Baptist's men won both duals against Colorado College and Ohio Northern while the Pioneer women dropped both of theirs in swimming action here Saturday.
Making their first meet appearance since Nov. 20, Wayland's men performed well, defeating Ohio Northern, 145-103, and doubling up host Colorado College, 164-82. In the other men's dual, Ohio Northern beat Colorado College, 146-102.
On the women's side, the Pioneers fell to Ohio Northern, 157-109, before going down to Colorado College, 166-100. Colorado College then topped Ohio Northern, 186-100, to win the meet.
The wins boosted the WBU men's dual record to 3-2 while the Pioneer women fell to 2-4.
Both Wayland squads are ranked fourth in the most recent NAIA Coaches' Top 10. A new poll is due out Jan. 19, the last of the regular-season.
Next on the schedule for Wayland are competitions Jan. 21 in Odessa against host Texas-Permian Basin and Southwestern University of Georgetown. A last-chance meet is set for Feb. 7 prior to NAIA nationals beginning March 1 in Columbus, Ga.
