Wayland Baptist junior goalkeeper
Ziggy Camejo has been named Sooner Athletic Conference Defender of the Week.

A 6-foot junior from the Bronx, N.Y., Camejo helped the No. 22 Pioneers to their eighth straight win then to a program-record nine-match unbeaten streak with a tie. Combined, Camejo allowed just one goal in 161 minutes and recorded 11 saves.

In a 4-0 road victory against John Brown University, which is ranked the equivalent of 26
th in the NAIA, Camejo recorded three saves in 51 minutes before giving way to a substitute keeper. In a 1-1 double-overtime tie with Bacone (Okla.), Camejo was credited with a season-high eight saves – five more than his previous best – while playing all 110 minutes in goal.

Camejo, a first-year transfer from ASA College (N.Y.), ranks third in the NAIA in goals against per game (0.350).

Camejo joins teammate
Ryan Montgomery as SAC players of the week this season. Montgomery was named conference defender of the week when he played keeper for the first time in his collegiate career during Wayland's season-opener.

The Pioneers (9-1-1, 3-0-1 SAC) are back at home to host Oklahoma City (9-2, 2-1) at 6 p.m. Tuesday, following the women's match at 4.
